Boca to face five second division teams in new season

Boca Juniors' reserve team will face five teams from the Primera Nacional on their way to defending the title won in the 2025 Torneo Clausura, which they later reaffirmed by winning the Projection Champions Trophy. The second division clubs that will have to play against the 'Xeneize', all of them invited by the AFA, will be Atlético de Rafaela, Colón, Ferro, San Martín de San Juan, and Quilmes, while the only one that will not play against the 'Azul y Oro' club will be Godoy Cruz. Additionally, Independiente will be in the same situation, given the rarity that most of the promotion clubs share Zone B. According to what was learned by the Argentine News Agency, the Primera Nacional teams that will measure up against the 'Xeneize' will be Atlético de Rafaela, Colón, Ferro, San Martín de San Juan, and Quilmes. Godoy Cruz will be the only second division team that will not face Boca. This is due to a decision made by the AFA last year to invite certain promotion clubs to the Primera Reserve tournament. While in 2025 there were two clubs, Colón and Ferro, the quota of invitees was expanded to six for this edition. Was it a good draw?
